DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College men's basketball has signed Garrett Barger, a six-foot-nine forward, out of Eaglecrest High School as the program's final recruit for the 2025-26 campaign.

Barger was a staple for the Raptors up in Centennial, Colo., lettering all four years of high school while amassing an 80-25 career record before capping his high school career by leading Eaglecrest to the Colorado 6A Boys Basketball State Championship title, dethroning 2024 champions Valor Christian 65-63. In addition, Barger split time between the forward and center positions.

"Garrett was a big-time player here in the state of Colorado," head coach Jordan Mast commented. "Even though he stands at six-foot-nine, what impressed us most was his relentless motor and ability to move. We believe he can develop into a premier big within the RMAC. Between his skill set and his ability to win, Garrett will be a big-time player for the Skyhawks."

A dominant threat on both ends of the floor, Barger once hauled in 19 rebounds while also supplying his squad with 20 points on the offensive end. His efforts led to a plethora of awards, including First-Team All-Colorado, Second-Team All-State, and First-Team All-Conference honors. Barger was also voted team captain.

Last season, Fort Lewis returned to the RMAC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and made its third-straight appearance in the tournament's semifinals. The
Skyhawks posted a 19-12 overall record and a 12-8 mark in conference play, earning three all-conference selections. Off the court, the program maintained a 3.04 Grade Point Average as a team through the fall semester.
