DURANGO, Colo. – Bob Hofman, one of the most successful coaches in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference basketball history, has passed away at the age of 75.

Hofman announced his retirement following the 2015 season after leading the Skyhawks for 19 years. He holds every major coaching record in program history, including 359 wins, a .654 winning percentage, and 245 RMAC victories. Hofman was inducted into the FLC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.

Under his leadership, FLC won three RMAC regular season titles, four RMAC tournaments, six RMAC West Division crowns, and earned seven NCAA Division II playoff berths, highlighted by a Sweet Sixteen run in 2010–11. The court within Whalen Gymnasium was named "Bob Hofman Court" in 2016.

Across 25 collegiate seasons, Hofman amassed a 437–280 record, with stints at Eastern Washington, Western State, and FLC. He earned multiple Coach of the Year honors at the RMAC, NAIA, and Big Sky levels and remains the winningest coach in both FLC and Western State history.

He ranks second in the RMAC record book in career RMAC wins (309) and eighth in career RMAC winning percentage (.677). His career also includes a successful high school coaching run, capped by a Colorado 4A state championship in 1981.
