DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College football (1-1, 0-0 RMAC) looks to continue building off its dominant week one victory on the road as the Skyhawks welcome Black Hills State (0-3, 0-1 RMAC) to Ray Denninson Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon for its 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener.

Relentless Defense
The Skyhawks are coming off an extra week of rest after heading into the sweltering desert and handing Arizona Christian (0-1) a 58-10 loss on its home field. Despite the final score, the contest was overwhelmingly won by Fort Lewis' defense that forced six takeaways, including three fumbles and three interceptions, one of each of which was returned for touchdowns, while also limiting the Firestorm to 220 yards of total offense. Jake Penney led the charge with 12 total tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, while Jordan Thomas added another four tackles, 1.5 tackles for 9 yards lost, forced a fumble, broke up one pass, and hauled in an interception with a 21-yard return en route to being named the Week One Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Balanced Attack
