Erhart makes clean sweep of RMAC men’s basketball weekly awards

1/12/2026 3:00:00 PM

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis men's basketball's Stewart Erhart has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Week Eight Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Erhart earns his second and third weekly honors of the 2025-26 campaign, joining Colorado Mesa's Ty Allred (Dec. 22) as the only players to garner both awards in the same week this season. In addition, he becomes the first Skyhawk since Marquel Beasley in 2018-19 to sweep the weekly recognitions.

A graduate of West Valley High School out of Tanana, Alaska, Erhart has caused havoc across the hardwood all season. The six-foot-two redshirt sophomore guard is averaging 16.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 44.8 percent from the three-point line, and 78.3 percent at the free throw line. He stands alone at the top of NCAA Division II, and third among all three NCAA divisions, in steals per game. Against RMAC opponents, Erhart has dominated with 20.4 points, 6.0 steals, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

Last Thursday, Erhart helped pace five Skyhawks in double figures, tying for a team-high 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting while dishing out a career-high six assists and grabbing a pair of rebounds without a turnover to his name. Defensively, Erhart accounted for seven of Fort Lewis' 15 steals on 21 forced turnovers, helping to hold Western Colorado to 63 points–12 points below its season average–and 34.4 percent shooting while also picking up 24 points off turnovers.

In Saturday's overtime thriller, Erhart again led the charge, scoring a game-high 27 points en route to his third 20+ point performance of the year on 7-of-20 shooting with a 2-for-5 mark from deep and 11-for-13 mark at the free throw line. He played a pivotal role in securing the overtime win and maintaining the Skyhawks' unbeaten conference record, hitting back-to-back free throws with 29 seconds left to tie the game and force the overtime period.

Defensively, Erhart once again nabbed a career-high seven steals, tying the program record for the fifth-most steals in a game for the second time in as many outings and the third of his career. He accounted for nearly half of Fort Lewis' 17 total steals on 22 forced turnovers for a season-high 26 points off turnovers. Additionally, Erhart also made four assists and brought down six rebounds.

Fort Lewis, now in sole possession of first place in the conference standings at 8-5 overall and 6-0 in conference action, will embark on a crucial road trip to South Dakota this week. The Skyhawks will first take on South Dakota Mines (7-7, 4-2 RMAC) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, before challenging No. 11-ranked and second-place Black Hills State University (12-2, 5-1 RMAC) on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. Fans can follow the action live on the RMAC Network and keep up to date with all of the latest news on www.GoSkyhawks.com or with the Fort Lewis Skyhawks mobile app.
