Erhart earns back-to-back RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors

1/19/2026 3:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Stewart Erhart, a redshirt sophomore guard on the Fort Lewis men's basketball team, has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.

The weekly honor is Erhart's fourth of the season, and the second offensive award after sweeping both offensive and defensive player of the week last Monday. He was also named the defensive player of the week back on Dec. 15, and ties Western Colorado's Aidan McDowell for the most weekly awards (4) in the RMAC thus far.

Erhart had a flair of the dramatics last Thursday night, as the Tanana, Alaska native and West Valley High School graduate waited until the second half to even attempt a shot from the field. Across the final 20 minutes of action, Erhart erupted for a game-high 24 points on 6-for-10 shooting, including a 2-for-2 mark from the three-point line, while making a career-high six assists, pulling down six rebounds, and nabbing a steal. In addition, Erhart was a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line and 6-for-6 in the final three minutes to help Fort Lewis overtake the Hardrockers and earn an 86-81 come-from-behind win over South Dakota Mines (8-8, 5-3 RMAC).

On Saturday afternoon, Erhart came up big once again as he led the Skyhawks to their second win over a top-15 opponent in Fort Lewis' fifth top-25 showdown of the season. Through 25 minutes on the floor, Erhart paced Fort Lewis with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-19 shooting from the field. He also led the roster with seven rebounds while adding two steals and one assist. Erhart was near perfect at the free-throw line once more, converting six free throws on seven attempts, helping the Skyhawks battle to a 74-74 tie before fouling out in the final minute. Fort Lewis went on to overcome a 19-point second-half deficit and stun No. 15 nationally ranked Black Hills State University (13-3, 6-2 RMAC), 78-76, in the final seconds to remain undefeated in conference play.

Through 13 games, Erhart is averaging 17.5 points on 45.5 percent shooting, adding 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 steals, and 3.0 assists per game. On a national scale, Erhart leads NCAA Division II in steals per game (3.38 steals/game), and ranks 13th in total steals (44), 108th in scoring (17.5 points/game), 128th in free throw attempts (77), 142nd in free throw percentage (81.8 percent), 195th in field goal percentage (45.5 percent), 215th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.33), and 228th in assists per game (3.1 assists/game). Additionally, Erhart has torched RMAC opponents thus far, averaging 20.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 steals, and 3.7 assists per game against league opponents.

Fort Lewis kicks off a four-game home stand this week against Colorado Christian University (7-9, 2-6 RMAC) for its annual Nike N7 game, presented by SkyUte Resort & Casino, on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (10-6, 5-3 RMAC) will be in town on Saturday, Jan. 24, for a 3 p.m. contest.
