Records fall at New Mexico Team Open

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Another week of indoor track proved to be fruitful for the Skyhawks with five school records and four NCAA Division II Provisional Standards highlighting a two-day effort at the New Mexico Team Open.

On the men's side, Brady Burrough, Armando Fuentes, and the distance medley relay (DMR) quartet enjoyed notable marks. Burrough turned in a program record performance in the 800m with a time of 1:52.15, narrowly edging out Fuentes' program record time of 1:52.65. It was the second time in as many weeks that a pair of Skyhawks have broken a program record in the same race.

Additionally, the DMR group of Brody Hubbard, Payton Whitehead, Burrough, and Fuentes teamed up for a provisional standard time of 9:49.78. They were joined by the women's DMR squad of Eliana Angelino, Janaya Mancell, Caroline Laughlin, and Alliyah Molina who shattered a school record with a provisional standard time of 11:55.99.

The women's success carried into the 4x400m relay where Josie Coulter, Lily Vertrees, Mancell, and Angelino picked up a school record with a time of 3:56.97. Hannah Hartwell rounded out key performances with two school records and provisional times, first in the mile where she now ranks ninth in NCAA DII at 4:48.28. She added a 3000m program record time of 9:28.35—the seventh-best time in DII this season.
