Hartwell repeats as champion, Skyhawks break four school records

DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College indoor track and field teams sent student-athletes to the Don Kirby Elite Invitational and the GVSU Big Meet this week, picking up seven NCAA Provisional Standards while breaking four school records.

GVSU Big Meet Summary
The Skyhawks began Friday's competition with the women's 5000m where Hannah Hartwell and Alliyah Molina each toed the line. Hartwell defended her title from a year ago, placing first with an NCAA Provisional time of 16:15.02—the fifth-best time in NCAA DII this season. Molina earned an 11^th place spot with a time of 17:08.89. The men's 5k was next, and Elijah Smith represented the Skyhawks with a second-place finish. Smith recorded an NCAA Provisional time of 14:11.99—good for a school record.
