March 4, 2010. Spartanburg, SC. - The Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team will open up their 2010 season in Spartanburg, SC on Saturday against Converse College at 1pm ET. The Skyhawks look to collect their 1st win since the program was started last season and they went 0-8. "Our girls have much more experience and confidence this year and I'm feeling very optimistic about what these girls can accomplish this season", Coach Queisser commented.
The team returns seven players from the 2009 season, those players are; senior captain
Morgan Mangnall, junior midfielder
Courtney Hancock, sophomores Jess Adams,
Arielle Blankenbuhler,
Elise DeHerrera, Emily Spreer, Stephanie Pitts and
Nic Laros.
Newcomers include
Genna Waugh,
Angie Neu,
Libby Weiner,
Katharine Allen,
Jenna Steele,
Paige Juneau and
Alyssa Vigil.
The young and talented Skyhawks will use their speed and defending to take on the unknown east coast school. The Hawks' will play two days after their season opener in Gaffney, SC. against Limestone College. Live Stats will be available for the Limestone game but not the Converse College game.
