April 19, 2010. Denver, CO. - Fort Lewis College had a rough finish this weekend to its sophomore season, losing its final two regular-season women's lacrosse games 20-3 on Saturday to Rollins and 17-0 on Sunday to Regis. Both games were played in the Front Range.
FLC, in just its second season, made history this year with the program's first victory - an 11-10 win against Morrisville State on March 23 in Colorado Springs.
In between, there were 10 losses, and FLC finished its season 1-10.
Arielle Blankenbuhler, Jenna Steele and Libby Weiner scored free-position goals for FLC in its loss to Rollins.
FLC, which lost 18-3 to Regis earlier this season in one of just two home games this year, was blanked by the Rangers in its season finale.
Alyssa Vigil, a freshman attacker from Kent Denver High School, finished the season with a team-high 16 goals, one assist and 17 points.
Morgan Mangnall, the team's only senior, finished her season with four goals.
FLC head coach Kelley Quessier McPeake was unavailable for comment. The program's first and only coach will not return to the program next year.
