No. 4 Roadrunners cruise to 72-51 win over Fort Lewis

Four Metro State starters score in double digits

DENVER — Four starters scored in double digits as No. 4 Metro State (16-1 overall, 11-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) cruised to a 72-51 win over Fort Lewis (8-8, 6-6) tonight in the Auraria Event Center.

Jonathan Morse notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Demetrius Miller led all players with 16 points to pace the Roadrunners. Reggie Evans and Brandon Jefferson each scored 12.

Matt Billups, who went 7-of-9 from the free throw line, was the only Skyhawk in double figures, scoring 12.

Fort Lewis shot just 34 percent from the field (17 of 50) and was outrebounded 37-30. Metro State, on the other hand, shot 49.2 percent from the field (30 of 61). The Roadrunners never trailed and led 35-23 at the half.

Fort Lewis continues its two-game Denver road trip at Regis (4-12, 1-11) at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Regis Fieldhouse.
