Fort Lewis softball series with Black Hills State moved to Farmington, N.M.

Game times moved up an hour each day

DURANGO, Colo. — Fort Lewis College's home softball series against Black Hills State (S.D.) has been moved to Ricketts Field #3 (also known as “the fairground field”) in Farmington, N.M., due to the snowpack at FLC's regular home venue, Aspen Field.

Game times have also been changed. Saturday's games will start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., while Sunday's games will start at 10 a.m. and noon.

Admission to the games is free.

Ricketts Field is located at the corner of Fairgrounds Road and Vine Avenue in Farmington and is approximately one hour south of the Fort Lewis campus.

Fort Lewis (2-7 overall) and Black Hills State (0-5) open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play in the series.

The series also marks Black Hills State's entry into the RMAC. The Yellow Jackets will become full RMAC members during the 2012-13 season, replacing Nebraska-Kearney, which will join the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. BHSU and UNK will each play in the RMAC for the 2012 softball season.
