2014 Skyhawks Women's Soccer Weekly Notes - Nov. 4, 2014QuicklyFort Lewis clinched the fifth seed in the RMAC Tournament Friday night, marking the 10th straight year the Skyhawks have earned a bid to the conference tournament.
Fort Lewis will play at No. 4 seed New Mexico Highlands University on Wednesday. Â The Skyhawks finished the regular season with a 5-5-4 conference mark (6-7-5 overall) while the Cowgirls finished 7-3-4 in the league and 10-4-4 overall.

In their first meeting of the season, the Skyhawks posted a 1-0 win in Las Vegas, N.M. before drawing a 0-0 double overtime tie on Dirks Field.

Fort Lewis is 15-5-3 in the conference tournament. Â They have faced the Cowgirls once in the post-season which resulted in a 3-1 win by the Skyhawks on Nov. 2, 2011.
All-RMACJordan Hix and
Courtney Riley were voted to the 2014 All-RMAC Women's Soccer team. Â Freshman
Alicia Sanchez and
Jessica Singleton earned RMAC Honorable Mention honors.
Scouting New Mexico HighlandsIn two regular season meetings against the Cowgirls, the Skyhawks have out-scored NMHU 2-1. Â In the first game on Sept. 21 at NMHU,
Courtney Riley netted the game winning goal in the 70th minute.
Three weeks later at Dirks Field, Cooper Sanchez found the back of the net at 19:42 before NMHU's Mallory Bostic tied the game 10 minutes later. Â Â
The Cowgirls are 5-2-2 at home this season. Â They have played five of their last six games at Perkins Stadium, where they have gone 3-1-1.
New Mexico Highlands ranks first in the league in assists (27), second in shots (285), third in points (77), goals against average (0.69) and goals allowed (13), and fourth in goals (25). Â Both NMHU and the Skyhawks are third in the RMAC in shutouts with nine.

Vs. Colorado MesaChristine Silverstrone's first goal of the season led the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks to their first win of the season Friday afternoon. Â The goal proved to be the game-winning goal as the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss in their final regular season home game.

Silverstrone attempted a shot in the 43rd minute which was saved by Skyhawks goalie
Caitlyn Espinosa. Â A few seconds later, Silverstrone picked up the loose ball and scored from five yards out at 42:58.

CMU out-shot the Skyhawks by one, 13-12. Â
Brooke Milliet led both teams with three shots. Â She also added two shots on goal.

Espinosa stopped seven of eight shots on goal by Colorado Mesa. Â Â
At #15 Colorado MinesA misdirected cross pass in the backfield by Fort Lewis College led to an own goal at No. 15 Colorado School of Mines Sunday afternoon, resulting in a 1-0 setback for the Skyhawks women's soccer team.
 The win clinched the RMAC regular season title for the Orediggers as they finish the regular season 14-1-3 (11-1-2 RMAC).

Caitlyn Espinosa made two saves in goal after leaving the game with eight minutes remaining. Â
