Skyhawk Notes

Fort Lewis will open the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season this Saturday and Sunday at Regis University.  The Skyhawks will be making the trip to Regis for the third straight year.
Regis holds a 64-21 series advantage over the Skyhawks, and are on a two-game winning streak.  Regis is 31-9 against FLC when playing on their home field.
The last time FLC defeated the Rangers on the road was April 27, 2012.
Nine of the Skyhawks 10 games this season have been neutral site games.  They are 0-1 in road games.
Senior Destinee DeHerrera was named to the 2014 Montana State, Billings Desert Stinger all-tournament first team.  She finished the tournament batting .533 at the plate with eight hits, five runs batted in, three runs scored, two doubles, a home run and a walk.
DeHerrera has a career best 36 doubles.  She also ranks 10th in the record books in hits (133) and home runs (14), sixth in runs scored (85) and seventh in runs batted in (72).
The Skyhawks were picked seventh in the RMAC preseason coaches poll.  Senior third baseman Chelsea Rodriguez, last year's RMAC Academic Player of the Year, was also named to the RMAC preseason team.
Rodriguez is the FLC career leader in runs (129) and walks (105).  She is currently ranked second in runs batted in (107), home runs (31), and total bases (277).
Fort Lewis is fifth in the league in batting average (.313, 81-of-259) and eighth in pitching (5.92 earned run average).
