The win improves the Skyhawks to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in league play.  The Grizzlies drop to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the RMAC.

"We really opened up in the second half," said Fort Lewis College head women's lacrosse coach Kelsey MacDonald.  The first half was low scoring (9-5 at halftime), but we turned it up in the second half by scoring five straight unanswered goals.  We didn't' play well in the first half, but once we picked up the pace and started moving on the attack and picking up ground balls, we started to turn the game around and play Fort Lewis lacrosse."

Ellie Carpenter led the Skyhawks offense with four goals and two assists.  Brook Wineland added three goals and seven ground balls, while Ally Kvidera, Kylie Smith and Carly Smoke each tallied two goals.

Fort Lewis outshot ASU, 36-19 (28-13 shots on goal).

Sophomore goalie Alyssa Spencer made four saves.

The Skyhawks will travel back to Alamosa on Wednesday, March 5, for a non-conference match against Shorter University (Ga.).
