Skyhawk Notes
Fort Lewis is 19-12 in RMAC Shootout games. Â The Skyhawks have qualified for the tournament 13 straight years and have won three tournament titles (2011, 2008, 2002).
The Skyhawks are looking to snap a five game losing streak against the Roadrunners on their home court. Â The Skyhawks have defeated Metro State twice in eight attempts in the RMAC tournament.
Junior center
Alex Herrera and senior guard
Nick Tomsick earned 2014 All-RMAC first team honors. Â Herrera was named the 2014 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.

Herrera is ranked second in NCAA Division II in blocked shots, averaging 3.5 blocked shots per game. Â He recorded nine double-doubles in the regular season and leads the league in blocked shots with 92. Herrera ranks fifth in the league in scoring (18.9 points per game), third in field goal percentage (59.0) and second in rebounds (9.1). Â A five time RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree this season, Herrera is averaging 19 points and nine rebounds per game. Â He holds the school record for most blocks in a season (92).

A 2013 All-RMAC second team performer, Tomsick has started every game for the Skyhawks this season, and is averaging a team best 20 points. Â He is shooting 47.6 percent from the floor, 42.8 percent from long range and 86.2 percent from the charity stripe. Â Tomsick has scored 20 or more points in 15 games. Â He netted a career high 34 points against Tiffin on Nov. 27. Â Tomsick ranks third in the league in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage, ninth in free throw percentage, and sixth in three-point field goal percentage.
Junior center
Alex Herrera joined the 1,000th point club on Feb. 22 at Regis in an 83-80 win. Â He needed 32 points entering the game to reach the milestone, and he finished with 33 points for 1,001 career points. Â Herrera is only four blocks away from tying the career record for most blocks. Â He currently has 204 career blocks.
Fort Lewis is second in the league in assists per game with 15.2, three-point field goal percentage (41.2), blocked shots per game (4.6) and fourth in fewest fouls (473). Â
In only his second season with the program, senior guard
Nick Tomsick has dialed in from long distance 121 times, ranking him 14th all-time in the career record books. Â He is averaging 2.5 made 3-point field goals this season, and is shooting at a 43.6 percent clip.
Herrera leads the league and ranks second nationally in blocked shots per game (3.5) and total blocks (85).
Sophomore guard
Kevin Flohr was named to the 2013-14 RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. Â Flohr has a 3.87 GPA in Business Administration.
