Five Skyhawks earned 2014 RMAC All-Academic honors.  For the second year in a row, Chelsea Rodriguez was named the 2014 RMAC Softball Academic Player of the Honor.  Senior Mariah Stuart, juniors Kaitlyn Bending and Myndee Thompson, and sophomore Missy Fundora were named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.

This weekend marks the final home games for the Skyhawks.  They will host UC-Colorado Springs Friday and Saturday.  Doubleheaders both days will begin at 12 p.m.  

Saturday will mark Senior Day for five Skyhawk seniors: Hayley Bolyard, Destinee DeHerrera, Kamali'i Peneku, Mariah Stuart and Chelsea Rodriguez.  The seniors will be honored immediately following the completion of game one on Saturday.

UC-Colorado Springs owns a 52-32 series lead against Fort Lewis.  The Skyhawks have won 16 of 37 games against UCCS at home.

The Mountain Lions have won 12 of their last 15 games.  UCCS is led by Jessica Belsterling who is batting .435 with 50 hits, 38 runs, 46 runs batted in and 77 total bases.  She also leads the Lions in the circle with a 4.38 earned run average and a 9-3 record.

Senior Chelsea Rodriguez is on top of several career charts including runs (161), runs batted in (140), base on balls (131), hits (190), home runs (39), assists (403) and total bases (346).

Senior Destinee DeHerrera owns the career record for most doubles with 41.

The Skyhawks are fourth in the league in home runs per game (.95) and slugging percentage (.486), and sixth in batting average (.324), ERA (4.75) and scoring (5.67).

Fort Lewis is 13-2 when leading their opponent after the second inning, and 16-2 when leading after the third inning.  They are also 9-3 when hitting two or more home runs, and 15-3 when out-hitting their opponent.

The Skyhawks were picked seventh in the RMAC preseason coaches poll.  Senior third baseman Chelsea Rodriguez, last year's RMAC Academic Player of the Year, was also named to the RMAC preseason team.
