Skyhawks Softball Weekly Game Notes - April 2, 2014

Fort Lewis won their third four-game conference series this past weekend, posting three wins at Colorado Mines. The Skyhawks lone loss of the weekend was a 2-1, eight inning setback. FLC also won series against Colorado Christian (4-0) and Black Hills State (3-1).
 
After playing their last eight games on the road, the Skyhawks will host their next six games. FLC will face Colorado Mesa this Saturday and Sunday at Aspen Field. CMU has won 30-of-42 games at FLC. Fort Lewis will then host a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Dixie State University.
 
The Skyhawks enter the weekend in fifth place in the conference standings, one spot below fourth place CMU.
 
The Mavericks are coming off two consecutive pod-play weekends.
 
CMU won one of four games at home this past weekend against Regis and CSU-Pueblo.
 
Senior Chelsea Rodriguez became the all-time assists leader last weekend at Colorado Mines with 390 career assists. She is on top of several career charts, including runs (158), runs batted in (132), base on balls (126), hits (184), home runs (37), and total bases (334).
 
Senior Destinee DeHerrera owns the career record for most doubles with 38.
 
Rodriguez leads the league in on-base percentage (.568), walks (28), and runs (38), and she is fourth in batting average (.443).
 
Adriana Rosthenhausler ranks third in the league in triples with three. Mariah Stuart owns the best fielding percentage in the RMAC (1.000), and has the most putouts (249) and total chances
(255).
 
Fort Lewis is 12-0 when leading their opponent after the second inning, and 15-0 when leading after the third inning. They are also 9-2 when hitting two or more home runs, and 14-2 when out-hitting their opponent.
 
As a team, the Skyhawks rank in the top three in the conference in multiple categories, including scoring (3rd, 6.15 runs per game), batting average (3rd, .333), earned run average (3rd, 4.32), and slugging percentage (3rd, .503).
