Softball Shutout by Eagles, 8-0 and 6-0

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHADRON, Neb. – The Fort Lewis College softball team was held to three hits and no runs in two games Friday afternoon at Chadron State College, falling to the Eagles in doubleheader action, 8-0 and 6-0.

"Softball is a game of momentum," said head coach Kira Zeiter.  "We need to re-group and get that back on our side by taking it one pitch at a time tomorrow.  We can get that good feeling back tomorrow and it into next week."
 
Missy Fundora was the lone Skyhawk to earn a hit off of the Eagles pitcher, Kylee Polsley, in game one of Friday's doubleheader.
 
CSC scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning before plating five runs in the fifth to run-rule the Skyhawks, 8-0.   The Eagles ended the game with a walk off grand slam.
 
Victoria Johnson worked the first four innings of the game, surrendering three earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
 
In game two, Myndee Thompson and Jeovanna Rios each tallied one hit . 
 
Kiley Raica was the pitcher of record for the Skyhawks, working five hits and surrendering six earned runs on six hits.
 
Both teams will wrap up the four game series Saturday morning with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
