Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Behind three goals each from
Abby Kvidera and
Jessica Norby, the Fort Lewis College lacrosse team defeated Colorado Mesa University Sunday afternoon, 10-8 at Ray Dennison Memorial Field.
The win, which snapped a four game losing streak, moved the Skyhawks to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Kvidera gave Fort Lewis a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game followed by
Jessica Norby's 12
th goal of the year. Norby and
Kathryn Dunn added two more goals to give the Skyhawk a 4-3 lead after one half of action.
Kvidera led the team with five shots (four on goal). Wineland and DiCecco each picked up three ground balls while four different Skyhawks cause two turnovers each.
The Skyhawks out-scored Colorado Mesa in the second half, 6-5, with goals from
Brook Wineland, Norby, Kvidera (two goals),
Ally Kvidera and
Marissa DiCecco.
Fort Lewis edged the Mavericks in shots, 31-25, and ground balls, 19-15.
Alyssa Spencer stopped 11 of 19 shots on goal.
The Skyhawks will travel to Denver April 12-13 to face Rollins and Regis University.
