Skyhawks Softball Weekly Game Notes - April 9, 2014

Fort Lewis split their home series with Colorado Mesa this past weekend.  The Skyhawks won the first game of each day before dropping the second game.  The series split was the first for FLC this year.

The Skyhawks played host to Dixie State this past Tuesday in non-conference action.  The Red Storm entered the day with only eight losses and swept the Skyhawks 11-2 and 7-2.

The Skyhawks will travel to Metro State this Saturday and Sunday for a four game home series.  The Roadrunners are third in the league standings with three weekends remaining.  Metro State leads the conference in batting average (.353), doubles per game (2.33), earned run average (3.97) and scoring (7.67 runs per game).

Metro State is coming off back-to-back weekends of posting three wins in four games.  The Roadrunners have won eight of their last 12 contests.

The Skyhawks enter the weekend in sixth place in the conference standings with a 17-11 mark.

Senior Chelsea Rodriguez is on top of several career charts including runs (161), runs batted in (140), base on balls (131), hits (189), home runs (39), assists (40) and total bases (345).

Senior Destinee DeHerrera owns the career record for most doubles with 41.

Rodriguez leads the league in on-base percentage (.564), walks (33), and runs (41), and she is fifth in home runs (10) and runs batted in per game (1.21).

Adriana Rosthenhausler ranks fourth in the league in triples with three.  Mariah Stuart owns the best fielding percentage in the RMAC (1.000), and has the most putouts (256) and total chances (276).

Fort Lewis is 13-1 when leading their opponent after the second inning, and 16-1 when leading after the third inning.  They are also 9-3 when hitting two or more home runs, and 15-3 when out-hitting their opponent.
