2014 Skyhawks Women's Soccer Game Day Notes - Sept. 30, 2014

Fort Lewis College has not allowed a goal in 328 minutes.  

The Skyhawks drew two double overtime shutouts at home this past weekend against Western State and Colorado State-Pueblo.

Prior to a 1-0 shutout at New Mexico Highlands on Sept. 21, the last time an opponent scored on Fort Lewis was in the 72nd minute at Regis on Sept. 19.

Seven of the Skyhawks eight games have been decided by one goal or less.

Half (four) of the Skyhawks eight games have gone into overtime.  The Skyhawks are 0-1-3 in overtime games this year.

The Skyhawks are now 1-1-1 all-time against Western State and 0-0-1 at home against the Mountaineers.

FLC is 19-14-6 against CSU-Pueblo and 10-6-2 against the Pack at home.

The Skyhawks will play host to Adams State University on Wednesday at 3 p.m.  The Grizzlies enter the mid-week match up 1-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference.

Alex Sanderson leads the Grizzlies offense with seven points (three goals, one assist).  She also has a team high 18 shot attempts.

Molly O'Connor has played seven games in goal.  She is 1-5-1 between the posts with a 1.61 goals against average (29 saves, 12 goals allowed).

The Skyhawks are 19-2-2 all-time against the Grizzlies, and have not lost to ASU on Dirks Field (10-0-1).

On Friday, the Skyhawks will travel to Lakewood, Colo. for an 11 a.m. match against the Cougars (3-3-2, 0-3-1 RMAC).  Seven Cougars have found the back of the net for CCU.  Tristyn Hall has scored two of the Cougars eight goals this season.  

FLC's opponents this week are a combined 4-8-3 overall (15 points, .367 winning percentage), and 0-6-2 in the league (two points, .125).

Defensively between the posts, Shaya Lawrence and Claire LaValley protect the Cougars net.  Lawrence has played 560 minutes in goal, stopping 24 shots on goal and allowing five in (0.80 goals against average).

Despite having only scored three goals in eight games, Fort Lewis ranks third in the conference in shots (14.1 shots per game).  Jordan Hix is seventh in the league in shots attempts with 19.

Caitlyn Espinosa's 1.12 goals against average is the seventh best in the conference.  Espinosa has played more than 560 between the posts and made 25 saves with seven goals allowed.  

Espinosa was awarded the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday after recording her third straight shutout of the season.  She stopped all six shots on goal against Western State and CSU-Pueblo.
