VideoFort Lewis will play their second nationally ranked opponent in as many week's when they travel to No. 7 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.
The Orediggers have one of the top offenses in Division II. CSM ranks second in scoring offense (49.5 points per game), second in first down offense (169), third in passing offense (366.0) and fourth in total offense (534.7).
Behind center for the Orediggers is Justin Dvorak, who leads the nation in points responsible for (174). Dvorak leads the RMAC in pass efficiency (171.9), passing touchdowns (24), and passing yards (2,165).
Catching Dvorak's passes is Cole Spurgeon who has a league high eight receivng touchdowns.
The last time the Skyhawks defeated Colorado Mines was Oct. 21, 2006 (41-34), at Colorado Mines. FLC holds a slight 27-26 all-time series leads over the Orediggers.
PJ Hall is fifth in the league in rushing with 103.0 rushing yards per game.
Quarterback
Jordan Doyle ranks sixth in the league in pass efficiency (135.4), sixth in total offense (191.7) and ninth in passing average per game (134.0).
Senior wide receiver and returner
Juquelle Thompson is second in the league in kick return average (21.3 yards) and third in punt return average (9.6 yards).
As a team, the Skyhawks have the third best defense in the league, allowing 362.7 yards per game. They have the fifth best scoring offense with 32.5 points per game.
Fort Lewis suffered their first conference loss of the season on Saturday at No. 7 Colorado State-Pueblo. The loss was also the Skyhawks first Division II loss of the season.
Daniel Walker recorded 13 tackles at CSU-Pueblo, the most by any Skyhawk this season in a single game.
Fort Lewis punted a season high 10 times against ThunderWolves.
Kipp Castanha punted six times, the most by any punter this season.
Kipp Castanha's 47-yard fields against Western New Mexico and Oklahoma Panhandle State are the second longest made field goals in the league this season (48 yards).
Andrew Ike's 42 tackles are the 17th most in the league. Nineteen of his tackles have been solo stops.
