Box Score LUBBOCK, Texas – November 20, 2015 – Playing in the first game away from Whalen Gymnasium, the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team earned a 15-point win Friday evening in a neutral site game over Texas-Permian Basin, 69-54. The win keeps the Skyhawks record clean as they move to 3-0 on the season.
"It was a slow first half," said head coach
Jason Flores. "We turned it on in the second half and did a lot of good things. We led by 22 at one point and we were able to play everybody. It's a good regional win for us. We needed to get this game and tomorrow we'll have to step it up more for Lubbock Christian.
Astrea Reed made 4 of 9 field goals and all six free throw attempts to lead the Skyhawks offensively with 14 points.
Dallas Dickerson came off the bench to added 11 points.
Alyssa Yocky subbed in to lead FLC in rebounding with nine boards to go with her six points.
FLC led the Falcons in points in the paint, 38-22, points off of turnovers, 18-9, and second chance points, 19-4. The Skyhawks notched a 14-rebound advantage over UTPB while forcing the Falcons to commit 24 turnovers.
As a team, the Skyhawks shot 34.3 percent from the floor (24 of 70) and 81 percent from the charity stripe (17 of 21).
The Skyhawks will face No. 23 Lubbock Christian University tomorrow at 4 p.m. (MST).
