Skyhawks Lacrosse Game Day Notes - March 11, 2015Fort Lewis played their second game of the year this past Sunday against Regis. This game was the make-up game for the postponed game on February 27. Regis pulled out a late victory to win by two goals, 11-9. Â Â
Freshman
Taylor Cabrera led the Skyhawks with two goals and
Ellie Carpenter scored two goals as well for the Skyhawks. Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference pre-season goaltender of the year,
Alyssa Spencer made seven saves.Â
Carpenter and McMahon lead the Skyhawks offensive with five points each. Â Carpenter and Cabrera have added a team high four draw controls. Â
Katlyne Duffey has picked up a game high six ground balls and five caused turnovers.

The Skyhawks head into a two game weekend with action starting in Pueblo against the ThunderWolves. CSU-Pueblo has a 0-1 RMAC record this season and an overall record of 0-2. This is the first year of sponsoring women's lacrosse. The ThunderWolves are led by Rachel Welzin who has three goals and three points on the season. Nicole Burkhauser is the only goalie to have played so far for the Thunderwolves. She has 10 saves on the season.Â
The second game of the weekend is at Adams State on Sunday. The Grizzlies are 0-1 overall and in conference this season. The Skyhawks have never lost a game against the Grizzlies going 8-0 all-time and posting a 4-0 road record.Â
Fort Lewis Lacrosse is led by first year head coach
Julia Decker. Decker was an assistant coach at Fresno State for two years before becoming Fort Lewis' head coach. She is a graduate of SUNY Brockport.Â
