Skyhawks Softball Game Day Notes - March 4, 2015Fort Lewis heads into this weekend tied for first in the conference with a perfect 4-0 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They will play in Sliver City, N.M. against Western New Mexico University.

This will be the first action the Skyhawks have seen in two weeks. The Skyhawks pod play games against Colorado Christian and at New Mexico Highlands were cancelled due to weather.

The Mustangs have an overall record of 8-11 this season and a home record of 5-3. Western New Mexico is coming off a four game home sweep over Adams State University.

WNMU is led by slugger Thailyza Ramirez who has 19 RBI's and one home run. MaryJo Granger is the leading pitcher for Western New Mexico with an ERA of 7.39 and 21 strikeouts in 15 appearances this season.

The Skyhawks have a losing record to the Mustangs all-time 19-35. Fort Lewis is 8-24 all-time against Western New Mexico on the road. Â

Myndee Thompson is ranked third in the RMAC with a batting average of .472 and
Missy Fundora ranks sixth with an average of .440. Thompson ranks second in the RMAC for RBI's with 16. She ranks first in the conference in hits with 25, is tied for first in doubles with 6, leads the conference in triples with 4, and is first in total bases with 39.
Victoria Johnson will take the mound again for Fort Lewis. She has an ERA of 6.89 in 40.2 innings pitched this season to go with 21 strikeouts.
Kiley Raica will get the start in the second game. She has posted an ERA of 5.70 this season in 43.0 innings. She has 21 strikeouts as well. Â
