The Skyhawks are coming off a rough weekend at home going 1-3. Â The first day in Durango was split (L, 2-12 ; W, 7-6).
Tristen Gilbert had a run, a hit, and an RBI in the victory. Fort Lewis scored all seven runs off of eight hits in the first inning. Â They were held to three hits the remainder of the game but held onto the 7-6 win. Â
Olivia Goldberg pitched five innings and allowed six runs. The second day was swept by MSU Denver (L, 3-8; L, 0-9).

The Skyhawks will get a chance at improving their record this weekend at Colorado Mesa University.

The Mavericks have an overall record of 25-16 and a RMAC record of 21-6, which is the second best record in the league behind Regis University. Colorado Mesa is 14-2 in home games this season. The Skyhawks have an all-time record of 26-95 against the Mavericks. Colorado Mesa holds an all-time record of 52-10 in home games against Fort Lewis. Â The last time the Skyhawks faced the Mavericks was in last year's RMAC Tournament. Â Eighth seed Fort Lewis defeated top seed and RMAC Champions Colorado Mesa in the first round of the tournament, handing CMU a 14-9 setback. Â The Mavericks would later be knocked out of the tournament later in the day with a loss to Adams State University.

Colorado Mesa is led by slugger Makayla Kovac who is batting .405 this season to go along with eight homeruns and 45 RBIs. The Mavericks leading pitcher is Brooke Hodgson who has an ERA of 4.79 and has struck out 66 batters this season in 146.0 innings pitched.
