GOODWELL, Okla. – September 10, 2015 – Two Fort Lewis College volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2015 Oklahoman Panhandle State University Aggies Challenge All-Tournament Team. Freshmen
Gabriella Hickman and
Matisse Monty led the Skyhawks to the OPSU Aggies Challenge championship title after going 3-1 in Goodwell, Okla. last weekend.
Hickman played in all 16 sets and averaged 2.19 kills per set, 2.75 points per set, and hit .090 at the net from 35 kills on 155 attempts (21 errors). She added seven assists, 29 digs and eight aces. Hickman recorded a career high in kills (13) and hitting percentage (.205) on Friday in the Skyhawks lone setback of the weekend to Sterling College.
Outside hitter Monty led the Skyhawks with 3.06 kills per set and 49 total kills in 16 sets. She averaged 3.50 points per set while hitting at a .194 clip (49 kills, 19 errors, 155 total attempts). In her first career match for FLC, Monty recorded career highs in kills (15) and hitting percentage (.333) against the Aggies.
The Skyhawks will play their second preseason tournament Sept. 11-12 at the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Classic.
