The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team received nine votes in this week's NSCAA National Poll.  The Skyhawks are just two spots out of the Top 25.

After dropping their first two games of the season, the Skyhawks are on a six-game winning streak.

Fort Lewis is coming off of two home wins over Adams State University (W, 2-0) and Colorado State-Pueblo (W, 2-1).  The only goal scored against the Skyhawks came from a penalty kick.

Senior Zac Lawrence was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Sean Cleary was tabbed the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Lawrence finished the week with six points (two goals, two assists), while playing a role in four of the Skyhawks five goals last week in two home wins. On Wednesday against Adams State (W, 2-0), he assisted on the game-winning goal and then added an insurance goal. Against CSU-Pueblo on Friday, he scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the final goal.

Cleary played all 180 minutes in two Skyhawks home wins over Adams State and CSU-Pueblo. He led a defensive line that shut out ASU 2-0 and only allowed two shots on goal. The only opposing goal scored on the week came on a penalty kick. He helped hold CSU-Pueblo to one shot on goal and added a goal of his own against the ThunderWolves.

The Skyhawks will play host to Westminster College on Friday at 3 p.m.  The Griffins are 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the RMAC, tying them for 10th place in the league standings.

FLC is 1-3-1 all-time against Westminster and 1-2-1 against WC at Dirks Field.  The last time the two teams faced each other was Oct. 12, 2002 at Fort Lewis (1-1 tie). The lone win against WC came Oct. 13, 2002 (W, 1-0 at FLC).

The Mavericks enter the weekend 5-2-1 overall and 2-1-0 in league games.  They are on a two game winning streak and are in fourth place in the standings.

The Skyhawks are 10-3-1 against CMU. All three losses to the Mavericks have come in the last three meetings.  FLC is 4-2-1 against CMU on Dirks Field.
