Quick Hits

Playing their fourth straight game on the road, the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team recorded a split this past weekend at Colorado Mesa (L, 58-50) and Westminster College (W, 72-62). Saturday night's win against the Griffins snapped a three game losing streak.

After this weekend's split, the Skyhawks are sitting in fourth place in the Mountain Division with a 5-6 RMAC record, and are in a four way tie for eighth place overall.  The top eight teams, regardless of division, will qualify for the RMAC championship tournament (excluding Westminster College).

Alyssa Yocky recorded her first two starts of the season this past weekend. She pulled down 14 defensive rebounds, blocked two shots and grabbed two steals.  For the weekend, she finished with 12 points and 20 rebounds.

The Skyhawks will begin a four game homestand this weekend when they play host to Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands.  FLC began the conference season playing six of their first 10 games on the road and will conclude the second half of the conference season playing seven of their last 11 games at home.

Western New Mexico is 6-10 overall and 4-7 in the RMAC.  The Mustangs are fifth in the Mountain Division (12th overall) and are currently on a three game losing streak.

New Mexico Highlands won their first two games of the season but have since lost 14 straight.  The Cowgirls own a 2-14 overall record and are 0-11 in conference games.

Eight Fort Lewis College women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the 2015-16 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. Kylie Santos was named to the First Team, while teammates Kate Bayes, Emily Childress, Dallas Dickerson, Ande Lampert, Emily McCue, Mary Rambo and Simone Ruedin were named to the Honor Roll.
