NOTES
Fort Lewis College will travel over Wolf Creek pass this weekend to face Colorado Christian University on Friday, and Colorado School of Mines on Sunday. Both games will kick off at 12 p.m.
FLC went 1-1-0 at home last week. The Skyhawks started the week with a 7-0 win against Adams State University on Wednesday. The last time FLC scored seven goals in a game was 2013 (at Colorado Christian University).
Fort Lewis lost a 1-0 decision on Friday to Colorado State-Pueblo, just 35 seconds into overtime.
The Skyhawks are sixth in the league standings with a 5-3-0 record (15 points). FLC is 6-6-0 overall and 4-2-0 on the road. In 12 games, the Skyhawks are third in the RMAC in points (65), goals (24) and assists (17). Defensively, FLC is ninth in saves (39) and sixth in goals against average (1.63).
Salifu Jatta leads FLC in shots (31), points (11) and assists (five).
Churchill Onumonu's five goals are a team high.
THE SERIES
The Skyhawks own a 44-5-2 series lead against Colorado Christian University. FLC has won the last 27 games against the Cougars. The Skyhawks are 22-2-2 all-time when playing CCU on their home field.
Fort Lewis is 30-16-7 against Colorado School of Mines, and 12-10-3 against the Orediggers on their home turf. FLC is 1-1-2 in the last four meetings. The Skyhawks last win against the Orediggers was Oct. 31, 2014 at CSM in a 2-1 overtime win.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
CCU is tied for ninth place in the RMAC with three points (1-7-0). The Cougars are 1-11-0 overall. CCU leads the league in saves with 90, but rank last in shots (79), goals (nine), goals allowed (38), points (25) and goals against average (3.15).
Blake Goodale is fourth in the RMAC in goals scored with five. Brandon Eide leads all RMAC goalkeepers with 86 saves.
SCOUTING THE OREDIGGERS
The Orediggers have a one point advantage over the Skyhawks in the league standings (16 points) with a 5-2-1 record (6-4-2 overall).
CSM leads all 11 teams in points (73), goals (25), assists (23) and yellow cards (31).
Trevor Amann leads the Orediggers offense with shots (33), points (16), and goals (8). Leo Chely is the RMAC leader in goals against average (0.63) and saves percentage (.825).

This year's squad boasts student-athletes from eight different states and seven different countries (England, Ecuador, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, Somalia, and Spain). Of the 30-player roster, 19 student-athletes hail from the United States and 11 from international countries.
PRESEAON HONORS
The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team was picked fifth out of 11 teams in the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll. Sophomore defender
Sean Cleary and senior midfielder
Tamino Kroeger were voted to the preseason team.
The Skyhawks finished the 2015 campaign with a 12-6-2 overall record and a 6-3-1 league record, finishing fifth in the RMAC standings.
Cleary was named the 2016 RMAC Preseason Defender of the Year last week. He received several honors as a redshirt-freshman, including being named to the Academic All-District first team, Academic All-RMAC first team, All-NSCAA South Central Region third team and All-RMAC first team honors.
An All-NSCAA South Central Region Second Team and All-RMAC First Team honoree in 2015, Kroeger scored a team high 10 goals in his junior campaign. He started 11 of 15 games he played in and netted three game-winning goals. Kroeger tallied a season high four points in two games last year. He finished the season with 21 points (10 goals, one assist).
NEW DIRECTION
Fort Lewis is under the direction of first year head coach
David Oberholtzer. A graduate of Fort Lewis, Oberholtzer is no stranger to Fort Lewis as he played two seasons for the Skyhawks before serving as an assistant coach from 2009-2012. A member of the 2006 and 2007 teams, Oberholtzer was a part of the Skyhawks NCAA National Runner-up team in 2006. As an assistant coach for the Skyhawks, Oberholtzer helped coached FLC to two NCAA National Championships in 2009 and 2011.

The legendary voice of the Skyhawks, John Mahoney, returns for his 12
th season calling Skyhawks soccer games on the air. Mahoney will be reunited with Phil Duke who is returning after a seven year hiatus. Mahoney and Duke will call all Skyhawks men's and women's soccer home games. LOOKING AHEAD
Fort Lewis College will repeat this weekend again Oct. 21 and Oct. 23 when they play host to Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
