NOTES
The FLC women's soccer team will travel to Colorado Mesa University Friday night, and Westminster College Sunday afternoon, marking their final regular season road trip.

Fort Lewis College recorded a 3-0 home win on Friday in their first ever meeting with Black Hills State University.  The win kept the Skyhawks undefeated at home, 3-0-0.
 
FLC enters this weekend tied for second place in the conference with a 5-2-0 record (15 points) and a 6-4-1 overall record.  The Skyhawks are tied with CSU-Pueblo and are three points behind the league leader Colorado School of Mines, 6-1-0 (18 points). 
 
Shayla Malecki ranks second in the RMAC in game-winning goals, fourth in goals (five), seventh in points (11), and 10th in shots (25).  Teammate Alicia Sanchez is tied with Malecki in goals (five) and is fifth in the RMAC in points (12).  Andonia Apergis' three assists are the fifth most in the conference.
 
As a team, the Skyhawks are fourth in the league in goals (1.64 per game), points (4.18 per game) and assists (10), and fifth in the league in shots (13.36 per game).  Defensively, FLC is third in goals allowed (10), fourth in goals against average (0.88), and seventh in saves (4.91 per game).
 
THE SERIES
The Skyhawks lead the all-time series against Colorado Mesa University, 18-13-5.  The series is tied up at 7-7-4 when playing at CMU.  FLC won the last meeting, 2-1 in overtime last year.  FLC is 10-1-2 in the last 13 games against the Mavericks.
 
The Skyhawks and Griffins faced each other for the first time in program history last year.  FLC won the match on Sept. 27, 2-1, at home.
 
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
Colorado Mesa University owns a 5-5-2 overall record and they are eighth in the league standings with a 3-3-1 record.  CMU is seventh in the conference in shots (12.00 per game), and last in goals (eight), assists (four) and points (20).  CMU has been outscored this season, 11-8.
 
The Mavericks are led by Amanda Wenzel's two game-winning goals and 29 shots attempts.
 
SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS
Westminster College has 12 league points with a 3-1-3 record, placing them fifth in the conference standings.  The Griffins have outscored their opponents 17-8 and have shutout six teams.  WC is second in the league in shots (16.55 per game), goals against average (0.67), shutouts (six), and fifth in points (3.91 per game).
 
Madison Roemer leads the RMAC in shots (42), points (18), goals (eight), and game-winning goals (five).  In between the posts is Breanna Empey who owns a 0.68 goals against average and five shutouts.
 
2015 WRAPUP
The Skyhawks finished the 2015 season with a double overtime 0-0 tie against St. Edward's University in San Angelo, Texas in the NCAA Women's Soccer South Central Region First Round game.  SEU advanced to the second round on penalty kicks.  Last year's NCAA tournament berth was the sixth time in program history FLC competed in the NCAA post-season.
 
MEET THE TEAM
FLC returns eight starters from last year's NCAA qualifying team (Alicia Sanchez, Shayla Malecki, Courtney Riley, Carolyn Archer, Haleigh Macomb, Keisha Green, Andra Thaden and Dayli Schmieder).  Starters Brooke Milliet, Jordan Hix and Caitlyn Espinosa are not returning after graduating last year.
 
PRESEAON HONORS
After finishing second overall in the 2015 regular season standings, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team is picked to finish second in the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Skyhawks earned 128 points behind the league favorite Colorado School of Mines.  FLC also received votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America preseason poll.  The Skyhawks finished the 2015 season second in the league with an 8-2-1 league record (12-5-4). 
 
PROVEN COACH
Head coach Jimmy Hall is in his third year leading the Skyhawks women's soccer program.  In only his second year as head coach, Hall was named the RMAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year.  In three years, Hall has notched an overall record of 18-13-9 and a league mark of 15-7-5.  Hall returned to his alma mater as assistant women's soccer coach in 2011 and is in his sixth year with the women's program. The former Skyhawk soccer standout has deep roots in the Durango soccer community and coaching experience at the collegiate, high school and club levels.
 
ON THE AIR
The legendary voice of the Skyhawks, John Mahoney, returns for his 12th season calling Skyhawks soccer games on the air.  Mahoney will be reunited with Phil Duke who is returning after a seven year hiatus.  Mahoney and Duke will call all Skyhawks men's and women's soccer home games.  Fans can watch all home soccer games for free on Stretch Internet and listen to Mahoney and Duke via the free video stream and on the air at KIUP AM 930, 97.3 FM and www.radiodurango.com.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
After playing only three games on Dirks Field so far this season, FLC will return home next weekend to play their final three regular season matches.  FLC will play host to Adams State on Oct. 23 in their only contest of the week.
