Men’s Basketball Set for a Three-Game Week

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team will play three games this week, beginning Wednesday night at Colorado State University at 7 p.m.  The game will count as an exhibition game for the Skyhawks, but is a countable game for the Rams.
 
FLC will then return home to open their home season Nov. 18-19 in the Skyhawks Classic.  Adams State will face Northern New Mexico College Friday at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Skyhawks game against Embry-Riddle (NAIA).  On Saturday, the Grizzlies and Embry-Riddle will square off at 3:30 p.m., with the Skyhawks women's basketball home opener against Northern New Mexico at 5:30 p.m., and the men's game against NNMC at 7:30 p.m.
 
NOTES
Fort Lewis College opened their season last Friday with an 82-90 setback at West Texas A&M University.  The Skyhawks bounced back to defeat Eastern New Mexico University the following night, 88-87.
 
The Skyhawks enter this week averaging 85 points and 33 rebounds per game.  Despite being outscored by 3.5 points and outrebounded by 14.0 rebounds per game, the Skyhawks hold a +6.0 turnover margin.
 
FLC is shooting a solid 45 percent from the floor (54-120) and 50 percent from three-point range (18-26).
 
Junior guard Rasmus Bach leads the Skyhawks with 23 points and 16 rebounds per game.  He is shooting at a .636 clip from the floor and has made all four three-point field goal attempts.  He was honored with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards on Monday.
 
SCOUTING THE RAMS
Colorado State University enters Wednesday's game with a 1-0 record after posting a 64-61 win over New Mexico State on Nov. 13.  The Rams also charted a 75-60 home exhibition win over Regis University on Nov. 8, 75-60.
 
CSU finished last season with an 18-16 overall record and an 8-10 mark in conference games.  The Rams lost four of its five starters from last year's squad, and were picked seventh in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll.
 
After one regular season game, Braden Koelliker leads the team in minutes (36), points (21), rebounds (9.0) and free throw percentage (.867).
 
SCOUTING THE NNMC EAGLES
Northern New Mexico started their season with two wins over Embry-Riddle and California-Miramar, but have lost three straight to the Skyhawks, Wayland Baptist and Southwest.  NNMC is getting outscored by 12.6 points per game (81.6-94.2), but they are edging their opponents on the glass, posting a 46.4 rebounding average compared to their opponents 45.4 average.
 
Jeffrey Long is the Eagles leading scorer with 20.2 points per game.  He dishing out 5.2 assists per game and pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game.
 
SCOUTING THE ER EAGLES
Embry-Riddle is located in Prescott, Ariz.  The Eagles own a 2-5 record this season, collecting wins over University of Southwest and San Diego Christian College.  E-R suffered setbacks against Life Pacific, Northwest University, The Master's College and Westmont College.
 
UP NEXT
FLC will travel to Golden, Colo. Nov. 25-26 for two neutral site games against Dine College and Wayland Baptist University.
