No. 20 Skyhawks to Play First RMAC Road Games

UPCOMING GAMES
Fort Lewis College (7-1, 2-0) will play their first RMAC road games of the season this Friday at Saturday.  The Skyhawks will face Colorado Mesa University (1-7, 0-2 RMAC) on Friday at 7:30 p.m., followed by Western State Colorado University (2-4, 1-1 RMAC) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks stayed at No. 20 in this week's National Association Basketball Coaches Division II poll. This marks the 15th consecutive week the Skyhawks have been ranked in the top 25 of the NABC poll.
 
FLC recorded an overtime win over Colorado State-Pueblo Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium. The Skyhawks trailed the ThunderWolves by 18 points in the second half before mounting a comeback to win the game, 105-97.  The win also set a new school record for most consecutive home wins (22).  Friday's win best the 21-game winning streak set from Nov. 28, 1977 to Jan. 8, 1979.
 
The Skyhawks continued their home winning streak on Saturday with a 96-71 win over New Mexico Highlands University.
 
Junior guard Rasmus Bach was named this week's RMAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.  He was also named the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 14.  This is the third time in four weeks a Skyhawks men's basketball student-athlete has been named RMAC Player of the Week.
 
Bach averaged 26 points, five rebounds, and 3.5 assists in two home wins over Colorado State-Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands University. 
 
Against the Pack Friday night, Bach scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals while shooting 40 percent from the floor and hitting on 12-of-13 free throws.  In the second half and overtime periods, Bach made 8-of-14 field goals and 8-of-9 free throws for 20 points while pulling down seven rebounds.  The next night against NMHU, he netted 24 points and dished out four assists while shooting 56.3 percent from the floor.
 
Bach is 153 points away from eclipsing the 1,000 point mark.  Senior guard Will Morse is ninth on the all-time assists leaderboard with 273, and he is 248 points away from reaching the 1,000 point milestone.
 
FLC leads the league and is ranked in the top 10 of NCAA Division II in multiple categories. The Skyhawks lead the league and are second in Division II in three-point field goals percentage (48.4 percent), third in scoring margin (25.6 points), fourth in assist/turnover radio (1.70), fifth in scoring offense (97.1 points per game), and eighth in Division II in assists per game (19.8), field goal percentage defense (38.0 percent) and three-point field goals per game (11.5).
 
Senior guard Will Morse leads league in assist/turnover margin (4.89), assists per game (5.5), three-point field goal percentage (58.8) and total assists (44). 
 
Senior guard Joshua Blaylock leads the RMAC in three-point field goals per game (3.50) and total made three-point field goals (28).
 
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
Colorado Mesa University enters the weekend with a 1-7 overall record and a 0-2 league record.  The Mavericks, who are 0-2 at home this season, are on a five game losing skid.  Their lone win of the season came against Dine College (W, 120-33).
 
CMU is scoring 76.2 points per game and allowing the exact same amount of points.  CJ Davis leads the Mavericks with 14.3 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Western State Colorado University owns a 2-4 record this season and are 1-1 in league games.  The Mountaineers are 1-3 in their last four games, and are 2-1 on their home court.
 
WSCU is outscoring their opponents by 3.3 points per game, 78.8-75.5.  Ben Beauchamp leads three Mountaineers in double digit scoring average with 14.0 points per game.

The Skyhawks will play their final games of the calendar year on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Adams State University, and Saturday, Dec. 17 against Westminster College in Whalen Gymnasium.
