The Fort Lewis College softball team earned two wins this past weekend in Canyon, Texas. The Skyhawks notched a five inning win over Cameron on Friday, and an 8-3 win over Eastern New Mexico University on Saturday.

Six of FLC's 11 games this season have been five innings long. The Skyhawks played their first extra inning game on Sunday in a 7-6, eight inning loss to Lubbock Christian.

Fort Lewis will open their home season this weekend against Colorado Mesa University and Dixie State University. Due to unplayable field conditions on Aspen Field, all six games have been moved to the Aztec Sports Complex in Aztec, N.M.

Victoria Johnson has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. Johnson pitched a complete-game, five inning no hitter in an 8-0 win over Cameron University on Friday. She fanned seven batters in the process. The next day against Eastern New Mexico, she earned her third win of the season after allowing two earned runs on six hits and striking out 10 batters.

Johnson pitched three complete games and earned a 2.53 ERA with seven earned runs on 14 hits and 18 strikeouts.

The Skyhawks are ranked in the top five in the league in several categories, including doubles (third, 13), batters struck out (third, 45), batting average (fifth, .276), runs scored (fifth, 43), hits (fifth, 71), runs batted in (fifth, 36) and total bases (fifth, 90).
