Quick HitsThe Fort Lewis College women's basketball team posted their fourth home split of the season this past weekend against Western State Colorado University (W, 75-43) and Colorado State University-Pueblo (L, 64-54), one of three teams tied for the RMAC lead.
Friday's 32-point win over the Mountaineers was the fifth time this season the Skyhawks out-scored their opponent by at least 25 points.
The Skyhawks need two wins to clinch a spot in the RMAC championship tournament. Â FLC is currently sitting in eighth place in the overall league standings (fourth in the Mountain Division).
The Skyhawks rank in the top three in the RMAC in multiple categories, including a league best 346 made free throws. Â FLC is second in fewest turnovers (323), free throw percentage (73.9 percent), and scoring offense (71.7 points per game). Â The Skyhawks are third in the RMAC in assist-turnover ratio (0.99), offensive rebounds per game (14), scoring margin (9.4 points per game), turnover margin (3.08) and turnovers per game (13.5).
FLC's only home weekend sweep this season was Jan. 22-23 against Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands - this weekend's opponents.
New Mexico Highlands is currently on a seven game losing streak. Â The Cowgirls are 1-18 in the Mountain Division (3-21 overall), placing them eithth in the Division and 16th overall.
WNMU enters the weekend with an 8-17 overall record and 5-15 Mountain Division record.
