NOTES
Fort Lewis College started the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season with a home win on Friday against South Dakota School of Mines. The Skyhawks earned the 2-1 win after scoring the game-winning goal one minute into the first overtime period.
On Sunday, the Skyhawks hosted No. 12 Regis University. With the game tied at 1-1, RU scored the game-winning goal with just 18 seconds remaining in the second overtime.
The Skyhawks are tied for fifth place in the RMAC standings with three points (1-1-0) and a 2-4-0 overall record.
Senior
Tamino Kroeger ranks seventh in the RMAC in points (five) and goals (two).
Salifu Jatta is eighth in the league in shots (15).
THIS WEEK
The Skyhawks will travel to Adams State University for a midweek game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. FLC will then head to Pueblo to face the ThunderWolves on Sunday at 1 p.m.
THE SERIES
FLC owns a 12-1-0 all-time record against the Grizzlies and are currently on a five game winning streak. The Skyhawks are 6-0-0 when facing ASU on their home field.
In 56 meetings between the Skyhawks and ThunderWolves, FLC has come away victorious 45 times (45-8-3). The Skyhawks are 19-5-2 all-time at CSU-Pueblo and are on a six game winning streak, including three straight road wins.
SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES
Adams State University is off to a strong start this season with a 4-2-0 overall record. The Grizzlies are 1-1-0 in league games, having lost to No. 12 Regis University and defeating South Dakota Mines this past weekend. ASU is tied for the conference lead in goals (13), and they are second in points (36) and assists (10), and third in saves (22).
SCOUTING THE THUNDERWOLVES
CSU-Pueblo enters the weekend on a four game losing streak and they are in the middle of a five game home stand. The Pack posts an overall record of 2-4-0 and are 0-2-0 to start the conference season after dropping home matches to Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines. The ThunderWolves rank eighth in the RMAC in shots (62) and ninth in points (14) and goals (5).

The 2016 Skyhawks squad returns eight starters from 2015 (

Zac Lawrence and
Austin Derksen to graduation.
This year's squad boasts student-athletes from eight different states and seven different countries (England, Ecuador, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, Somalia, and Spain). Of the 30-player roster, 19 student-athletes hail from the United States and 11 from international countries.
PRESEAON HONORS
The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team was picked fifth out of 11 teams in the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll. Sophomore defender
Sean Cleary and senior midfielder
Tamino Kroeger were voted to the preseason team.
The Skyhawks finished the 2015 campaign with a 12-6-2 overall record and a 6-3-1 league record, finishing fifth in the RMAC standings.
Cleary was named the 2016 RMAC Preseason Defender of the Year last week. He received several honors as a redshirt-freshman, including being named to the Academic All-District first team, Academic All-RMAC first team, All-NSCAA South Central Region third team and All-RMAC first team honors.
An All-NSCAA South Central Region Second Team and All-RMAC First Team honoree in 2015, Kroeger scored a team high 10 goals in his junior campaign. He started 11 of 15 games he played in and netted three game-winning goals. Kroeger tallied a season high four points in two games last year. He finished the season with 21 points (10 goals, one assist).
NEW DIRECTION
Fort Lewis is under the direction of first year head coach
David Oberholtzer. A graduate of Fort Lewis, Oberholtzer is no stranger to Fort Lewis as he played two seasons for the Skyhawks before serving as an assistant coach from 2009-2012. A member of the 2006 and 2007 teams, Oberholtzer was a part of the Skyhawks NCAA National Runner-up team in 2006. As an assistant coach for the Skyhawks, Oberholtzer helped coached FLC to two NCAA National Championships in 2009 and 2011.
ON THE AIR
The legendary voice of the Skyhawks, John Mahoney, returns for his 12
th season calling Skyhawks soccer games on the air. Mahoney will be reunited with Phil Duke who is returning after a seven year hiatus. Mahoney and Duke will call all Skyhawks men's and women's soccer home games. LOOKING AHEAD
After two road games, the Skyhawks will return home next Friday, Sept. 30, for a 3 p.m. match against Colorado Mesa University before heading to Salt Lake City on Oct. 2 to face Westminster College at 1 p.m.
