The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team will be on the road this Saturday at Colorado Christian University Cougars. The game will start at 1 p.m. at the CCU Event Center in Lakewood, Colo.
NOTES
The Skyhawks enter the weekend with the fifth best league record. FLC is 9-5 in RMAC games and 14-5 overall.
Fort Lewis is coming off a home split against Regis University (L, 79-74) and Chadron State College (W, 92-80).
Shelby Patterson and
Kayla Herrera recorded career scoring highs on Friday and Saturday over the Rangers and Eagles
Patterson scored 22 points against the Rangers on Friday night on 3-of-9 shooting. She made a whopping 15-of-18 free throws, setting a career high and tying an RMAC game high for most free throws made in a game.
Herrera sank 10-of-16 shots in route to a career high of 27 points during the Saturday night game against the Eagles. Herrera also corralled eight rebounds and the 10 field goals were also a career high.
Briana Clah ranks fifth in the RMAC for scoring. Clah is averaging 14.7 points per game while shooting a league best free throw percentage of 87.8 (86-98). She has also dished out 70 assists in 19 games to rank fifth in the RMAC for total assists.
Ande Lampert has rejected 28 shots in 19 games which is the second most blocked shots in the RMAC.
Alyssa Yocky has grabbed the second most rebounds in the league. She is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game.
Fort Lewis owns the best field goal percentage defense in the RMAC holding teams to a 33.8 field goal percentage per game this season. The Skyhawks also holds the best defensive rebounding average with 31.1 per game in the conference and three-point field goal percentage on defense, holding their opponents to 25.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Colorado Christian is ninth in the league standings with a 6-7 record. The Cougars are 8-10 overall and 3-7 at home.
Saturday's will be the only meeting between the Skyhawks and Cougars during the regular season.
Alex Nelson leads the Cougars in scoring (14.1 points per game) and is second on the team in rebounds (6.7 rebounds per game). She also leads the RMAC in minutes played per game at 34.9. CCU is shooting 42.1 percent from the field as a team which is fourth in the conference, and shooting 74.5 percent from the charity stripe which is ranked third in the conference.
