TUCSON, Ariz. – February 18, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College softball team was held to two runs Saturday against Lincoln Memorial University in Tucson, Ariz. The Skyhawks lost their lone game of the day to the Railsplitters, 8-2. FLC's second game of the day against Lubbock Christian University was postponed due to rain.
LMU took a 5-0 lead after three and one-half innings.
Mandy Owens hit a triple to score
Lauren Caldwell and
Robyn Hall in the fourth inning to cut into LMU's lead, but the Skyhawks were held scoreless the remainder of the game while LMU added three more runs.
Adriana Rosthenhausler collected two of the Skyhawks five hits.
Madison Stanich worked the entire game in the circle, allowing 13 hits and fanning four batters. LMU's Justice Smith struck out 10 Skyhawks.
FLC was originally scheduled to play Academy of Art on Sunday at 9:30 a.m., but the Skyhawks will now play LCU on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
