Roadrunners Take Two from Skyhawks

AZTEC, N.M. – March 12, 2017 – MSU Denver produced 27 runs and held the Fort Lewis College softball team to one run in Sunday's doubleheader action at Aztec Tiger Sports Complex in Aztec, N.M.  The Skyhawks fell in game one, 10-2 (five innings), and game two, 17-0 (five innings).
 
The losses drop the Skyhawks to 1-20 overall and 0-12 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  MSU Denver improves to 18-7 on the season and 12-0 in league games.
 
FLC's only run of the day came in the first inning when Gianna Melaragno batted in Adriana Rosthenhaulser.  Melaragno and Rosthenhausler accounted for four of the Skyhawks six hits. 
 
MSU Denver scored 10 runs on 12 hits.
 
In the series finale, Allison Young broke a hitless streak for the Skyhawks in the bottom of the fourth inning. FLC finished the game with three hits in the final two innings.
 
MSU Denver opened the game with eight runs in the first inning, two in the second inning and seven in the fourth inning.
 
FLC will play host to Regis University at Aztec Tiger Sports Complex March 18-19.
