Softball Hits the Road against the Cowgirls

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis softball team will travel to Las Vegas, N.M. on April 8-9 to play New Mexico Highlands University for a four game conference series. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 12 p.m., with Sunday's doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks are 12th in the RMAC standings with a 3-21 record.  FLC is 4-25 overall and is 1-12 on the road.
 
FLC suffered a home sweep against No. 22 Colorado Mesa University (2-5, 3-15, 1-17, 8-9) this past weekend.
 
Angelique Elemen led the Skyhawks offensive attack with two homeruns and six runs batted in. Elemen recorded a .909 slugging percentage for the weekend. Tristen Gilbert added a team high five hits, three of which were doubles.
 
Elemen is third in the league with 37 runs batted in. She leads the team in homeruns (8), total bases (62), and slugging percentage (.660).
 
Adriana Rosthenhausler leads the team in batting average (.354), hits (34), walks (17), doubles (10), on-base percentage (.461) and assists (77).
 
As a team, the Skyhawks are batting .274 and have recorded 72 extra base hits.  FLC has scored the eighth most runs in the league (155), and the ninth most hits (235) and runs batted in (133).
 
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
New Mexico Highlands University is 12-25 on the season and are ranked ninth in the RMAC with a 9-15 conference record.
 
NMHU is sixth in the RMAC with a .305 batting average. The Cowgirls are fifth in runs (182) and hits (295) while ranking forth in RBIs (177).
 
Katelyn Bates is seventh in the RMAC with 31 runs batted in and Victoria Gonzalez is ninth with 30 runs batted in. Jamie Weatherbee leads the Cowgirls with 41 hits on the season. Christian Bobian leads the team with a .360 batting average.
 
Madison Davis ranks fourth in the league with 105.1 innings pitched. Davis also has fanned 44 batters on the season.
 
UP NEXT
Fort Lewis returns home on April 14-15 for a four game series against University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
