Lacrosse to Face Oklahoma Baptist This Monday in Aztec

AZTEC, N.M. – The Fort Lewis lacrosse team will remain at home this coming week as they will travel back down to Aztec to host Oklahoma Baptist this Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

This was set to be the third of three straight home games, but after facing Rockhurst this past Monday, the game against Lindenwood on Thursday was postponed due to weather.
So far this season, FLC is 0-2 and 0-1 in RMAC play, having played Concordia St. Paul and Rockhurst so far this year.

Delaney Benson and Mia White lead the Skyhawks with three goals apiece and they both lead the team in points with three each. Abby Escandon has added two goals. Aitana Rivera leads the way in groundballs with five, Rivera and Jillian Byron have each caused three turnovers and Ann Nelson has a team-best nine draw controls.
Daris Wienk has started both games in goal and has 20 saves so far in 120 minutes of action.

Last year, FLC cruised to a 19-3 win at Oklahoma Baptist last year, with Kelli Warmouth and Nelson tallying hat tricks in that game. Brooke Galle, Regan Olson, Taylor Cabrera, Shelby Madden and Benson all added two goals.

Oklahoma Baptist is 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in RMAC play having fallen to both UC-Colorado Springs (4-23) and Colorado Mesa (0-21) to open conference play. They picked up non-conference wins against Hendrix (16-9) and University of Saint Mary (Kan.) (21-1).

Lauren McCormack leads the team with 14 goals and 17 total points. Taylor Skomp adds 10 goals and Devin Miller has 12 points with nine goals and three assists. In net, Courtney Barnickle has played in all five games and 190 minutes with 35 saves and both wins. Lauren Scott has played in 110 minutes and three games, tallying 14 saves.

After the game against Oklahoma Baptist, FLC will travel to Denver to face Regis on Friday, March 22 starting at 3:30 p.m.
