Legendre nabs Second Team, Garro, Meier, and Jean-Baptiste obtain Honorable Mention in RMAC honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After leading the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team with seven goals this season, sophomore Gabriel Legendre has been tabbed with Second Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors, while Isaac Garro, Maximilian Meier, and Loic Jean-Baptiste earned honorable mention honors as well, the conference office announced Thursday at noon.

Legendre, a sophomore out of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, led the Skyhawks with seven total goals on the season and 19 points (seven goals, five assists). Playing 1,373 minutes across the season, Legendre remained consistent and scored goals in key matches such as the 1-1 tie to Texas Permian Basin in the season opener, and in a pivotal 2-1 win at home over Colorado Mesa.

As for Garro, the recent transfer from Monroe College quickly found his stride in the latter half of Fort Lewis' schedule. The sophomore from San Jose, Costa Rica, with a cannon for a left foot, scored a goal in three-straight matches across the final four for the Skyhawks. Garro finished with 1,011 total minutes and led the team in total shots (43) and shots on goal (tied with Aymaro Vargas with 17).

Hailing from Martinique, France, is Fort Lewis' second-leading scorer, Jean-Baptiste. Almost unstoppable near the end of the Skyhawks schedule, Jean-Baptiste scored all six goals in the final four games. Against Adams State and Regis, Jean-Baptiste was a perfect two-for-two converting both shots into goals in each match. The redshirt junior finished with 1,089 total minutes, 15 shots, and one game-winning goal.

While minor injuries had him sidelined for a portion of the season, Meier was able to secure his first RMAC honor as a Skyhawk. From Münster, Germany, Meier scored three goals across his 1,036 minutes. Primarily at the left wing, Meier played a key role in the FLC offense throughout the season.

Graduating just three seniors this season, Fort Lewis will retain nearly all of its offensive power in preparation for the fall of 2023.
