"Any win on the road in the RMAC is gold," head coach Bob Pietrack stated. "We're going up against two solid programs that have struggled on the road recently but will be back at home and ready to give us their absolute best."

INTO THE EAGLES NEST
First up on this weekend's docket is a trip to Chadron State (8-7, 5-4 RMAC) for a battle of the birds against the Eagles. Chadron will utilize its home-court advantage as the Eagles look to upset the Skyhawks and end a three-game losing streak.

Friday night's game in the Chicoine Center is set to mark the 37th meeting of all time between the two programs. While Fort Lewis leads the series 26-10, the Eagles have stifled the Skyhawks at home with a 12-5 record in Chadron, Nebraska. Both sides have exchanged wins in recent years with Fort Lewis emerging as the most recent victor after an 87-63 win at Chadron last season.

The Eagles were off to a hot 5-1 start to RMAC play, but recent losses to UCCS, Colorado Mesa, and Westminster have cut the momentum. Isaiah Wyatt commands the floor for the Eagles averaging 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The six-foot-six guard currently ranks eighth in the conference in scoring.

FACING THE COUGARS DEN
On Saturday the Skyhawks will head into the CCU Event Center for a matchup with Colorado Christian (6-9, 2-7 RMAC). The Cougars, much like Chadron, are looking to end a spell of misfortune and upset the ranked Skyhawks. Colorado Christian has lost five-straight games and has not won since Dec. 10, 61-57 over Western Colorado.

On Saturday the Skyhawks and Cougars will meet for the 48th time. Fort Lewis not only leads the series 32-15 but is also riding back-to-back wins over the Cougars. Colorado Christian has been nearly unbeatable at home with a daunting 14-7 record in Lakewood. While the Skyhawks won at Colorado Christian last season, it was just the first since 2017.

The Cougars have three individuals averaging double-digit points per game: Jason Gallant (13.4), DJ McDonald (12.6), and Noah Kon (11.2). In the post, Colorado Christian relies on Isaiah Alonzo who averages six rebounds per game while also providing 9.7 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Fort Lewis is back on the road after going unbeaten in a three-game homestand. The Skyhawks topped South Dakota Mines (5-10, 4-5 RMAC) 93-82 just before the new year, then proceeded to upend UCCS 77-69 and Regis 75-62. Akuel Kot led FLC past the Mountain Lions with 24 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Against the Rangers, it was JaQuaylon Mays and Obi Agbim who carried FLC to victory. The duo scored 15 points each while Mays provided four rebounds, two assists, one block, and two steals, and Agbim another seven rebounds and two assists.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Skyhawks are right back at home in Whalen Gymnasium next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21, for a pair of conference games against (RV) Colorado Mesa (12-3, 7-2 RMAC) and Westminster College (5-10, 4-5 RMAC). In celebration of Friday night's rivalry matchup with the Mavericks, Fort Lewis will celebrate "White Out Night" presented by Durango Motor Company.
