Last Time Out
Fort Lewis is soaring high following a commanding 4-0 shutout and revenge match against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs who handed the Skyhawks a 3-2 loss at home earlier in the season. Taking advantage of a red card handed to the Mountain Lions forcing them to play down a man, FLC rifled off four goals – two of which were scored by true freshman Emmett Layman – en route to the commanding win to secure a chance at the conference tournament championship.

Scouting the No. 15 ThunderWolves
CSU Pueblo returns to Durango for the second time in 2023 after taking a 3-2 loss at the hands of the Skyhawks back on Oct. 15 that led to a four-game winless streak. The top-ranked ThunderWolves ended the regular season with a 1-0 win over South Dakota Mines (3-15) and proceeded to post back-to-back one-nil victories over Metropolitan State University of Denver (7-8-4) and 21st-ranked Colorado Mesa University (10-4-5) in the first two rounds of the RMAC Tournament.

In the first go-around with the Pack, Fort Lewis held the edge in total shots 13-to-12 and shots on goal 9-to-5. CSUP's Ruben Volkert recorded five saves in goal to Lucas Martin's three. Three different Skyhawks – Tomas Duenes, David Citron, and Gabriel Legendre – all recorded goals, two of which came in the opening half. Caio Oliveira and Giancarlo Pretto recorded both of the ThunderWolves' goals in the 52nd and 86th minutes.

Conference Accolades
Freshman Anton Hjalmarsson, who tied Legendre with the second-most goals in the league with 10 while also adding eight assists, was named the RMAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Legendre and Loic Jean-Baptiste join Hjalmarsson with First-Team All-RMAC honors while Duenes and Kaden Schufft each captured a Second-Team All-RMAC nod. Head coach David Oberholtzer was also named the league's Coach of the Year after guiding FLC to the RMAC Regular Season Championship and a 10-3-4 regular season record.

Postseason Picture
The NCAA Tournament features four super regions comprised of the top ten teams from each of the respective regions. The victors of Friday's match will capture one of four automatic conference bids to Super Region 4 leaving just six remaining at-large selections. The NCAA Selection Show is slated for Nov. 13 while the national tournament will begin on Nov. 16.
