LOOKING BACK
The Skyhawks are riding high after a seemingly unstoppable offensive performance at home against Adams State (4-19, 2-15 RMAC) Tuesday night. Fort Lewis completed its first season sweep over the Grizzlies since 2016-17 handing ASU a 100-73 loss.

Brendan La Rose led the Skyhawks with a career-high 25 points shooting 10-13 from the field and 4-6 from beyond the arc. The senior forward also blocked three shots marking his fifth game with three or more blocks over the last ten games. Brenden Boatwright aided La Rose with his fourth career double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. JaQuaylon Mays also finished just shy of a triple-double with 10 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high nine assists.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Mountaineers enter Friday's contest with a 3-17 overall record and a 1-15 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Western Colorado is currently riding an eight-game losing streak and will be in the hunt for revenge after being dealt a loss in Durango, Colo., back on Dec. 3, 2022.

Western Colorado averages 65.3 points per game as a unit but allows opponents to score an average of 77.6 points - a 12.3 average point deficit. Shooting just 7.0 threes per game with a .304 average as a team, the Mountaineers rely heavily on winning the post where they shoot a combined .380.

Avery Rembao leads Western Colorado in points per game (14.8), steals (14), and assists (46). Robel Desta is the only other Mountaineer to average double-digit points per game with 13.3 while also leading the team with 6.3 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING THE No. 3/3 YELLOW JACKETS
Prior to Monday's contest, Black Hills State will head to Colorado Springs, Colo., and Denver, Colo., for matchups with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and Regis University on Friday and Saturday. Heading into this weekend the Yellow Jackets sit on top of the RMAC with a 20-1 overall record and a 14-1 conference mark.

Averaging 80.3 points per game, the Yellow Jackets boast the 45th-ranked offense in the country to pair complement its 20th-ranked defense that allows just 64.0 points per game.

2021-22 All-American Joel Scott continues to dominate on the hardwood, leading BHSU with 22.2 points per game, 9.4 rebounds per game, and 23 blocks. The senior is aided by Matthew Ragsdale, PJ Hayes, and Adam Moussa who provide 14.0, 11.6, and 10.7 points per game respectively.

The Yellow Jackets remain one of just four programs in the country with one loss or fewer. The only blemish on Black Hills State's record came at the hands of Colorado Mesa by a score of 80-69 in Spearfish, South Dakota.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CONNECTION AND Y2K NIGHT
Presented by the Durango Chamber of Commerce, fans are encouraged to dress up in their favorite early 2000s look and trends for Monday's game. At halftime, one lucky Fort Lewis College student will have an opportunity at a $1,000 half-court shot.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following Monday's contest, the Skyhawks will immediately hit the road for a rematch with the Yellow Jackets at Black Hills State on Friday, Feb. 17, with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off. Fort Lewis will then head to Rapid City, South Dakota, and take on the Hardrockers at South Dakota Mines the following Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6:00 p.m.
