DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team begins a four-game road stand on Saturday, facing Eastern New Mexico University before taking on Adams State University in a nonconference clash on Monday.

Looking Back
Fort Lewis finished the year with an overall record of 6-11-2 and a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference mark of 5-6-1. The team advanced to the RMAC Tournament for the fourth-straight season, falling by a narrow 2-1 mark to No. 25 UCCS via a go-ahead goal with four seconds remaining. The trio of Madyson Barela, Elizabeth David, and Sabrina Reyes were named All-RMAC Honorable Mention to close out the year.

The Skyhawks defended the home pitch well in 2022, coming away with a 6-1-2 mark at home and earning a pair of key shutouts on Dirks to send the squad to the postseason. Hannah Paschke and Barela led the team with four goals apiece, followed by Reyes with three to her credit. Julia Johnson led the way by dishing out three assists during her sophomore campaign. Fort Lewis returns eight players who saw the field in 1000 minutes or more as well as a pair of goalkeepers that combined for four wins.

Scouting Eastern New Mexico
The Greyhounds were 5-10-2 last season, improving on a seven-win season the previous year.  ENMU boasts 33 players on its roster, including nine freshmen and 10 transfers. The team returns Kinsie Mitchell, a defender who played the full 90 minutes in all but one game last season. The starting goalkeeper is back as well in Samantha Jefferies, a senior who averaged over five saves per game last year.

Fort Lewis is 9-2-1 all-time against ENMU, including a 2-0 victory at home last season. Juniors Gabi Meraz-Fishbein and Sabrina Reyes netted goals in the win while senior McKenna Ford contributed a pair of assists. The Skyhawks outshot the Greyhounds by a 20-1 margin, including an 8-0 edge in shots on goal.

Scouting Adams State University
The Grizzlies were 4-11-1 overall and 3-8-1 in conference play last season, ending the season with a 3-0 win over New Mexico Highlands at home. The team has a wealth of experience returning to the scene with the addition of 17 freshmen to the mix. Adams State totaled nine goals in 2022 compared to 35 for the opposition. Each of the Grizzlies' wins came in shutout fashion, including blanks of Texas A&M International, Western Colorado, and Black Hills State. Karlee Caballero returns as the team's leading scorer after tallying three last year.

Fort Lewis is 25-4-5 all-time versus Adams State, including a 1-0 home win last season. Hannah Paschke was responsible for the game-winner, drilling a penalty kick in the 64th minute to secure the victory.
