LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Recent transfer Jordan Jennings made a strong statement in his first appearance as a Skyhawk as he tied for sixth place as an individual while Fort Lewis College finished fifth as a team at The Writz at Mile High, co-hosted by Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian University at Bear Creek Golf Course from Sep. 10-12.

"I'm really impressed with all the men," head Coach Jim Foltz said. "They stayed very consistent throughout their rounds. I think we are going to be a force to be reckoned with at RMAC."

Jennings, a sophomore who transferred in this fall from Colorado State University, led Fort Lewis with 218 overall, shooting 76, 72, and 70 across the board. Jennings finished the weekend with a dozen birdies, five bogies, three double bogies, and a lone triple bogie while finishing par on 33 occasions to end his week just two strokes above par for the course.

Henry Poston recorded the second-best finish for FLC, shooting a three-over-par to capture a tie for eighth place. Carson Kerr rounded the top 25 for the Skyhawks, finishing in a tie for 20th with a 223 (+7).

As a unit, the Skyhawks shot a 1,122 en route to finishing 42 strokes over par and falling four strokes short behind Colorado Mesa University who placed fourth overall. Colorado Christian captured the team title with a combined 1,086 (+6) while the Cougars' own Xavier Bighaus won the individual title with a four-under 212.

Poston led the Skyhawks on the first day, dropping three birdies and finishing just one over par. Kerr followed close behind with 15 pars and three birdies resulting in a score of three over par. Jennings started his round off strong with a pair of birdies on holes eight and nine, but a triple and double bogie on holes sixteen and eighteen brought his score up to five over par. As a team, the Skyhawks shot 19 over par for the day.

Going into day two, FLC shaved six strokes off their previous round, finishing 13 over. Jennings led the team, securing four birdies to shoot even par. Poston kept a steady pace with ten pars, three birdies, and five bogies for a two-over finish while Kerr contributed four birdies for the team to finish three-over.

Fort Lewis kept the momentum going into day three. Jennings had an impressive round with six birdies and nine parts resulting in a two-under finish. Kerr shot one under through nine holes with two birdies, but a double bogey on hole twelve ultimately brought his score to one over par. Poston fired off four birdies and ten pars, however, four bogeys left him at even par for the day.
