PUEBLO, Colo. – Fort Lewis men's golf, led by redshirt junior Traejan Andrews' T-8th individual finish, climbed three spots on the leaderboard in the final round of action to capture its second top 10 placement in as many weeks with a ninth-place finish on an 880 (+28) team score at The Sam Proal at the Pueblo Country Club.

The Skyhawks fired off their best round when it mattered most, shooting a narrow six strokes over par with a 290 around Pueblo Country Club's 6,428-yard, par 71 course. With a two-stroke improvement from round two and an eight-stroke improvement from round one, Fort Lewis jumped up three spots and edged out six Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs, including No. 15-ranked Colorado Mesa University (882, +), and No. 13 Colorado State University Pueblo's B-team (889, +).

No. 31 Colorado Christian University held on to claim team medalist honors on a dominant 841 (-11) as the only program in double figures under par. The Cougars' own Peyton Jones held his own as well, winning individual medalist honors by a single stroke at 203 (-10) to hold off CSU Pueblo's own Marius Dosiere, who fired a 204 (-9) at his home course.

Andrews, a native of Greeley, Colo., matched his second-round with another 69 (-2) on the scorecard, marking his ninth round at or under par this season en route to his fourth top 15 finish this year. Andrews capped the tournament with two eagles, 10 birdies, and 31 pars. Chase Rogers shot a career-low and team-best for the tournament, 68 (-3), as his second round under par this year, to jump 27 spots, the most of any individual in the tournament, and place T-22nd on a 217 (+4).

A trio of Skyhawks grouped up to take T-58th, including Jake Chesler, Ian Henderson, and Benjamin Harding, who competed as an unattached individual. All three Skyhawks carded a 226 (+13), with Harding leading the grouping with eight birdies, followed by six for Henderson and four for Chesler. Jordan Jennings rounded out the team in T-66th on a 228 (+15).

As a unit, the Skyhawks tied for the lead among all teams with three eagles, and led the tournament with 166 combined pars. Fort Lewis posted an average score of 3.32 on par threes, 4.19 on par fours, and 4.90 on par fives.
