DURANGO, Colo. – The no. 17-ranked Skyhawks (11-2-6, 7-2-1 RMAC) will look to respond to the 2-1 loss the Rangers (7-2-9, 6-0-4 RMAC) dealt back on Oct. 13, this Wednesday as Fort Lewis marches into the Regis Match Pitch for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal match with Regis at 6 p.m.

Perfect When It Mattered
Last Sunday, Fort Lewis escaped MSU Denver with a 2-2 draw and a 6-5 victory in the penalty kick shootout. After taking a 1-0 lead on an early goal from Jacob Ramos, the Roadrunners battled back to equalize and take a 2-1 advantage in the second half of action. In crunch time, freshman Fabrizio Aguilera delivered his fifth goal of the year in the 83rd minute to force overtime. After neither side conceded in both overtime periods, it all came down to penalty kicks where both squads went 5-for-5 leading to sudden death. Casey Stracher buried the sixth penalty of the night, and Lucas Martin dove left to save the final attempt by the Roadrunners to seal the victory.

Chip On The Shoulder

At the end of the conference race, those three points captured by the Rangers proved to be the difference maker in the conference championship and dropped FLC to the third seed in the conference tournament due to the head-to-head loss.

Rollin' Rangers
The Rangers aren't the two-seed for nothing, as after a 1-2-5 start to the year, Regis bounced back to win six conference matches and tie the remaining four for a 7-2-9 overall record and 6-0-4 mark in the league play. RU tied FLC with 22 conference points but captured the higher seed in the head-to-head victory.

What's At Stake
Fort Lewis is looking to make its second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament this season and hopes to bounce back and capture the 2024 RMAC Tournament Championship after coming up short in the regular season. The Skyhawks were recently tabbed fourth in Super Region 4 on the initial NCAA regional rankings. While seeding for the tournament is up in the air, the winner of the conference tournament will be granted an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
