Men’s Golf heads south for Midwestern State Invitational

DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis men's golf team is returning to action after nearly three weeks back at home as the Skyhawks head down to Wichita Falls, Texas, for the Midwestern State Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

Fort Lewis will be making its third consecutive appearance at the Midwestern State Invitational after taking 13^th and 15^th as a team the past two seasons, respectively.

Ronald Kildall III led FLC in its last appearance as the junior from Everett, Wash., finished a tie for 45^th as an individual with single-round scores of 71 (E), 74 (+3), and 75 (+4) to finish seven strokes above par with a 220 total. As a team, the Skyhawks finished 33 strokes above par for a combined score of 885.

Featuring Bermuda grass fairways and 007 Bentgrass greens, Wichita Falls Country Club was redesigned in 2008 by D. A. Weibring and Steve Wolfard. With a slope of 145 and 74.0 from the black tees, the course also has a par of 71 with up to 6,884 yards of challenging golf.

Next weekend, the Skyhawks will take on back-to-back tournaments in Goodyear, Ariz. FLC will kick off the weekend with the Hot Dirt Classic at the Golf Club of Estrella on Apr. 5-6 followed by the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association Palm Valley Classic at Palm Valley Golf Club on Apr. 8-9.
